Land Claim / War Rules

What Is Land claim?
  1. Land claim is a feature on the server provided by the Imperium Plugin. Commands for this plugin can be found under the commands dropdown menu at the top right of the page
  2. Land claim provides the following features: Faction Creation, Map Tile Claiming, and Taxes!
Land Claim Features
  1. Once a group or faction has gathered enough players. (The Admin team is considering a minimum player requirement of 3 to claim land) They will be able to establish an HQ by using the respective commands found in the Commands dropdown. This will then allow said faction to set taxes upon their land. Old Rust Factions players may remember two existing systems. One in which the taxes are taken from the player while they go about their usual rust activities eating into their total gathered amount for the factions to use, and one in which the system “Cheats” in the resources gathered out of thin air for the faction to use. While the second system at implementation was loved, their was no longer any reason for factions not to have the max available taxes as it would no longer drive players away. We feel that at the end of the day, if you set taxes too high, you should have to deal with players actively avoiding your land when farming driving your tax generation into the dirt. With that in mind we will be using the original system with the intent that if you tax your “citizens” too high, they will leave. We also strongly encourage Factions that gather taxes to use the remainder after upkeep for the benefit of their populace.
  2. Upkeep, at the end of the last paragraph we mentioned Upkeep. Upkeep is a way to minimize or slow down faction expansion. Once you’ve claimed land you will be subject to Upkeep based on the total tiles you control. The initial Upkeep for your HQ will be small. However, as you claim land it’ll grow. We hope to eventually create upkeep variance based on the type of tile you control. Map tiles containing recyclers would then be more costly to better counteract the benefit they give.
WAR! HOUGH! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR!
  1. War, While being an integral thing of what were all about it should not be used lightly. We will require reasoning beyond “They were mean once, or we want their land.” While expansion is a valid reason please do try to be more creative than that.
  2. War Declarations must be made in the respective discord channel. In order to avoid slaughters and running people off for the month immediately and to encourage RP/Story creation. Upon wipe day we will have a peace period at the beginning of every wipe lasting until the first Wednesday. Once the first Wednesday of the month passes. All following war declarations will not go into effect until the next Wednesday. War declarations can be made by the factions leader. You are required to provide your in game name, your factions name, the target faction, and @ the opposing faction leader and finally the intent of the war. (Please see the pinned section of the discord channel #War Declaration for a template to use.)
  3. Once a formal declaration is made, both parties will enter a 2 day grace period ending the following Friday at 7pm EST. Upon which the first 24 hours of the war will begin. Once the first 24 hours have passed an Admin will mediate a cease fire where both faction leaders will be called to the table to discuss terms and negotiate peace. Both parties will be able to suggest terms. However both parties are able to reject terms that are not within reason. The Admin team would like the war to end here and pickup at a later date. However, if the loosing party wishes to be unreasonable then we cannot and will not intervene to save them.
  4. Once a ceasefire has been declared and terms made the war will be ceased until level heads do not prevail. When this inevitably happens the war procedure will start over, not taking effect until the Wednesday following the declaration in which both parties will enter a 2 day grace period again ending on Friday at 7pm est.
